New Pompompurin Merch From Japan: October 2026

This is our monthly round-up of new Pompompurin merch in Japan. It covers Sanrio’s own goods from its official online store, Sanrio Online Shop, as well as collabs and licensed goods from other Japanese brands, and we add new items each week as they’re announced. Most of these are sold only in Japan, so we also explain how to get them from abroad.

Latest Update

13 October: Sanrio’s made-to-order sale of the retro Pompompurin plush closed on 8 October. New this week: Sanrio’s DOLLY MIX Pompompurin mascots and the Nukumori Ouchi Jikan secret figures (from 8 October), Avail’s Pompompurin range (from 10 October), new kidswear from Bellemaison and branshes, the Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Fair at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro (until 4 November) and a Mizkan hot-pot campaign.

2 October: First edition. The most urgent item is Sanrio’s made-to-order sale of six retro Pompompurin and Muffin plush items, which closes at 12:00 on 8 October, Japan time. We’ve also added the TOMICA TUNES 30th anniversary cars, Paseos hoodies, the Sushiro campaign and the Sanrio Party Land limited set. We’ll add more as new items are announced.

October 2026 Release Calendar

Status as of 13 October 2026. Prices are as listed by Sanrio and each brand.

Sanrio also says its own new goods will mostly be released on Thursdays from October onwards, so most new Sanrio items will appear on Thursdays.

Retro Pompompurin Design Series: Made-to-Order Plush

The Retro Pompompurin Design Series (あの頃のポムポムプリンデザインシリーズ) marks Pompompurin’s 30th anniversary. The theme is Pompompurin’s very first plush toy, and the goods are designed to recall the products of that time, with a retro finish. The series launched on 27 August 2026 with 16 items, and on 24 September Sanrio announced that six of them would be sold again as made-to-order items.

Made-to-order means Sanrio takes orders for a set period and then produces exactly what was ordered. Orders were open on Sanrio Online Shop from 1 October (12:00) to 8 October (12:00) Japan time, and that window has now closed. Sanrio plans to start shipping in late January 2027. Sanrio says the delivery date may change significantly depending on circumstances.

Pompompurin Plush M and S

The two Pompompurin plush toys share the same fluffy, retro look with Pompompurin’s brown beret, and differ only in size. The M stands about 26 cm tall and the S about 18 cm. Both are made of polyester and carry a tag with the 30th anniversary design.

Pompompurin Mascot Holder

A mascot holder is a small plush with a carabiner, made to hang on a bag. This one is about 13.5 cm tall, and the carabiner can be removed. It also has the 30th anniversary design tag.

Muffin Plush and Mascot Holder

Muffin, Pompompurin’s hamster friend, gets the same retro treatment as a plush (about 14 cm tall) and a mascot holder (about 12 cm tall, carabiner removable). Sanrio designed them to be displayed alongside Pompompurin, and both have the 30th anniversary design tag.

Pompompurin Keychain

The keychain is the smallest item in the series, a plush about 8 cm tall on a metal ring, with a Pompompurin logo tag. The mascot can be taken off the ring. It’s listed for ages 6 and up.

Order Conditions

Sanrio set strict rules for this made-to-order sale, and they apply to every order placed in the window.

• Sold only on Sanrio Online Shop, the main Japanese store. Sanrio Online Shop Direct from Japan, Sanrio’s Rakuten and Yahoo! Shopping stores and Sanrio’s physical shops don’t offer it.
• Open to Sanrio+ members only, and payable by credit card only.
• Orders can’t be changed, cancelled or returned, even if shipping is delayed.
• These items can’t be bought together with other products in the same order.

Sanrio Party Land: Sanrio Shop Limited Set

This is a limited set for the Nintendo Switch game Sanrio Party Land (サンリオ パーティランド), sold only by Sanrio Shop and Sanrio Online Shop. It costs ¥11,000 and comes out on 29 October. Alongside the game, it includes a figure set of Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi, and a special NFC card that unlocks limited costumes in the game.

Sanrio Online Shop took pre-orders from Sanrio+ members on a first-come basis until 24 September, and that window has closed. Participating Sanrio shops are selling the set through a pre-release lottery. Sanrio says the game can also be played on Nintendo Switch 2.

New Sanrio Goods: DOLLY MIX and Nukumori Ouchi Jikan (8 October)

Sanrio’s release on Thursday 8 October added two new Pompompurin lines to Sanrio Online Shop and Sanrio shops.

DOLLY MIX Mascot Holder and Finger Mascot Set

In the DOLLY MIX line, Pompompurin is dressed up in a sweet pink outfit with ribbons and macarons. The mascot holder (DOLLY MIX マスコットホルダー) costs ¥2,970, measures about 13 × 6 × 12 cm without the chain and is listed for ages 6 and up. The finger mascot PUPPELA set (DOLLY MIX フィンガーマスコット PUPPELAセット) costs ¥2,640 and has a Pompompurin and a Muffin that work as finger puppets or as covers for a pen or a name stamp; it’s listed for ages 15 and up.

Nukumori Ouchi Jikan Secret Figures

Nukumori Ouchi Jikan (ぬくもりおうち時間, “cosy time at home”) is a set of eight miniature figures of Pompompurin’s winter room, with items such as a kotatsu, a heater and a hot pot. Each box costs ¥1,320 and comes with a piece of gum. It’s a secret type, so you can’t choose which one you get, but Sanrio Online Shop sends a complete set of all eight if you buy eight, and the outer box can be cut out to make a diorama. It’s listed for ages 15 and up.

Collabs and Licensed Goods

Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Fair at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro

Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro in Tokyo is holding a Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Fair from 8 October to 4 November, with collab goods on several floors, a stamp rally and photo spots. The collab goods include ANNA SUI × Pompompurin towel handkerchiefs (¥1,430), zipped towels (¥1,650), gloves (¥6,600) and a check muffler with an embroidered brooch (¥7,700), as well as ANNA SUI earrings (¥20,900) and a necklace (¥28,600), all in limited quantities. Sweets include Chidoriya’s Tyrolean biscuits × Pompompurin (8 pieces, ¥1,188). The fair also comes to Tobu’s Funabashi store in Chiba from 15 October.

Sanrio Online Shop also lists the ANNA SUI necklace and earrings, but they were showing as out of stock on 13 October.

Avail Pompompurin Range

Avail, a Japanese casual clothing and shoe chain, released a new Pompompurin range on 10 October, designed around Pompompurin relaxing at home. It includes pouches, bag charms, a pass case, cushion covers, a blanket, bags and hoodies, priced from ¥770 to ¥3,300 including tax. It’s sold at Avail stores and on the online store Shimamura Park, and most items are limited to one per customer.

Kidswear From Bellemaison and branshes

The mail-order brand Bellemaison released Sanrio kids’ tops on 8 October on Bellemaison Net, including a Pompompurin long-sleeve T-shirt with a contrast collar (brown, ¥2,290) and a ribbed-collar sweatshirt (yellow, ¥2,690), in sizes 80 to 120 cm. The children’s brand branshes sells long-sleeve Pompompurin roomwear for kids (100 to 140 cm, ¥3,949) and adults (free size, ¥5,049), and a marshmallow-knit version for kids (¥5,489).

TOMICA TUNES Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Cars

TOMICA TUNES is a line of die-cast Tomica cars from the Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy, with a character riding in each car. For Pompompurin’s 30th anniversary there are two designs, We Love Pompompurin and Hard at Work Pompompurin, each ¥1,320 with an original card. They’re sold at toy shops, Tomica Shop stores and Takara Tomy’s online shop, and some Sanrio shops and Sanrio Online Shop will stock them later.

Paseos Pompompurin Zip Boa Hoodies

Paseos, a Japanese clothing chain, releases fluffy zip-up boa hoodies in Sanrio designs on 7 October. The Pompompurin version comes in two styles: one with a character embroidery in sizes M and L at ¥2,409, and one with a tail embroidery in size 3L at ¥2,739. They’re sold at Paseos stores and on its online store, Paseos Net, from 10:00 on 7 October.

Sushiro × Pompompurin Campaign

Sushiro, a major conveyor-belt sushi chain, runs a Pompompurin campaign at its restaurants across Japan from 7 October to 8 November. Collab menu items come with original goods, such as picks on sushi and stickers with desserts, given out at random. The goods change for the second wave from 21 October, and each wave ends when the goods run out. The collab menu is for dining in only, so these goods aren’t sold separately.

Other Pompompurin Events in Japan This Month

• Mizkan Shime Nabe campaign (until 31 October): Buy Mizkan’s Shime Nabe hot-pot soups in Japan and enter with the receipt for a draw of 550 prizes such as blankets. A separate campaign on Mizkan’s X account gives away Pompompurin pot holders to 300 winners.
• Kojima Halloween campaign (3 October – 1 November): The electronics chain Kojima gives out Pompompurin and Little Twin Stars Halloween goods, such as stickers and keychains, to app members who meet the conditions.
• Philadelphia cream cheese packages (from 1 October): Limited packages featuring Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, My Melody and Pochacco in Japanese supermarkets.
• Pompompurin sweets buffet at Hotel New Otani Osaka (9 October – 30 November): A Pompompurin-themed dessert buffet, from ¥6,800 for adults on weekdays.
• Pompompurin designer signing (25 October): Sanrio’s Pompompurin designer draws and signs illustration boards at the Sanrio shop in Keio Department Store Shinjuku, Tokyo. Places are allocated by lottery to Sanrio+ members.

Why You Can’t Order These From Outside Japan

Sanrio Online Shop delivers only to addresses in Japan, and the made-to-order sale was open only to Sanrio+ members. Sanrio also runs a separate store that ships from Japan to other countries, Sanrio Online Shop Direct from Japan, but Sanrio said the made-to-order sale wasn’t available there. The collab and licensed goods are sold through Japanese stores and online shops, many of which also deliver only within Japan.

Sanrio Online Shop Direct From Japan

This is Sanrio’s own store for overseas buyers, and it ships from Japan to a limited list of countries. It carries a smaller range than the main Japanese store, and made-to-order sales like this one aren’t offered there. It’s worth checking for regular items if your country is on the list.

Proxy Services

Proxy shopping services buy from Japanese stores on your behalf and forward the parcel. The service fee they show is only the starting point: international shipping, payment charges and other costs are added along the way, so the final amount is hard to predict until the end. Resale Marketplaces

Retro Pompompurin items sometimes appear on resale sites after the order window closes, usually above Sanrio’s price. Made-to-order items aren’t due to ship until 2027, so if you buy from a reseller before then, check when the seller will actually have the item.

Tips Before You Buy

• Check purchase limits. Avail limits most items to one per customer, and the Tobu fair’s collab goods are in limited quantities.
• Secret items can’t be chosen. Nukumori Ouchi Jikan figures are packed at random, unless you buy all eight as a complete set on Sanrio Online Shop.
• Plan for a long wait on made-to-order items. The retro plush is planned to ship from late January 2027 and may move later.
• Check the sizes. Sizes are in centimetres. The plush S and the mascot holder are close in size, but only the mascot holder has a carabiner.
• Check the age labels. The retro Pompompurin plush and mascot holder are listed for ages 3 and up, the retro Muffin items, keychain and DOLLY MIX mascot holder for ages 6 and up, and the DOLLY MIX finger mascot set and Nukumori Ouchi Jikan figures for ages 15 and up.
