InRed is a Takarajimasha fashion monthly aimed at women in their thirties, and its gifts are consistently among the most sought-after in Japan. The formula is usually the same: a real outdoor or lifestyle brand crossed with a character licence, made into a bag or pouch that exists nowhere else.
This page tracks the current issue, explains how InRed’s two editions differ, and archives what came with recent issues. It is updated every month.
Latest issue at a glance
| Edition | Free gift | Release date | Japan price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard edition | PEANUTS × WILD THINGS water-repellent shoulder bag | 7 Oct 2026 | ¥1,760 |
| Supplementary edition | PEANUTS × WILD THINGS strap charm and mini pouch, two-piece set | 7 Oct 2026 | ¥1,720 |
The November 2026 issue goes on sale on 7 October, with Yoshine Kyoko on the cover. The October issue, released on 7 September, is on shelves until then – its contents are in the archive below.
What’s in this month’s gift
Both editions are built around a Peanuts collaboration with Wild Things, the American outdoor brand. This crossover exists only as an InRed furoku and is not in either brand’s own catalogue.

The standard edition carries a shoulder bag with water-repellent treatment and sealed seam tape, measuring roughly 13cm high by 20.5cm wide with a 3cm gusset, and a shoulder strap adjustable to a maximum of 158cm. It is built for rainy-day use rather than as a fashion piece.

The supplementary edition carries a two-piece set instead: a face-shaped charm at roughly 7 × 9.5cm at its widest – actually a flat pouch with fluffy Joe Cool embroidery – plus a mini pouch of roughly 8 × 10cm with a 4cm gusset. A phone tab of 2.8 × 4.8cm and a 32cm strap let either piece attach to a bag or a phone. It placed tenth in Japan’s pre-release rankings.
Standard vs supplementary edition
InRed publishes two versions of most issues on the same day, and this is the single most common source of confusion when ordering from abroad.
The editorial content is broadly the same – Takarajimasha notes that supplementary editions occasionally omit a few pages. What changes is the gift. Each version is a separate product with its own barcode, sold side by side in Japanese bookshops; you choose the one you want, and there is nothing random about it.
A clear pattern holds. The standard edition carries the larger item – a bag, a tote, a big eco bag. The supplementary edition carries smaller pieces from the same collaboration: pouches, charms, multi-piece sets. Neither is a subset of the other, so if you want both you need both magazines.
Ordering by month alone is not enough. “The October 2026 issue of InRed” could mean a large Coleman eco bag or a small Hello Kitty pouch, depending on which edition you land on. Always match the gift description.
What kind of magazine is InRed?
InRed is published monthly by Takarajimasha, the publisher that effectively invented the modern brand-collaboration furoku and has led Japan’s fashion magazine category for over a decade. The title targets women in their thirties with a “quality plus casual” editorial position, covering fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
Its gift strategy is distinctive. Where other Takarajimasha titles rotate through many brands, InRed returns repeatedly to the same partners – Coleman above all, frequently crossed with Sanrio or Peanuts characters. The Coleman × Hello Kitty pairing has now run three times in about a year, each time selling out.
Release day is the 7th of most months, which puts it earlier than the beauty titles. Cover prices sit between roughly ¥1,690 and ¥1,760. Note that InRed occasionally publishes combined issues – August and September 2026 were a single release – so there is no InRed in some months.
Where to buy InRed outside Japan
InRed is published for the domestic market and has no overseas distribution. The digital edition carries the articles only, since a physical bag cannot be attached to an e-book. Popular gifts sell out within days of release.
Bag furoku are also the bulkiest category to ship. A folded eco bag makes the magazine thick even though it stays light, which affects international postage more than the cover price does. Two things stand out. InRed publishes exact dimensions in advance for every gift – down to strap length and load rating – which is unusual and useful when buying sight unseen. And the collaborations repeat: Coleman × Hello Kitty ran in December 2025 and again in October 2026, and Moomin appears regularly across Takarajimasha titles.
Frequently asked questions
Which edition should I buy?
It depends on what you want. The standard edition carries the larger bag; the supplementary edition carries smaller pouches or charms from the same collaboration. The contents do not overlap.
Are the brand collaborations authentic?
Yes. Coleman, Wild Things, Sanrio and Moomin Characters all license these officially. They are magazine-exclusive editions rather than items from the brand’s retail range, and are not covered by that brand’s warranty.
Can I buy the bag without the magazine?
No. Japanese publishing guidelines require that a furoku is not an item normally sold separately from its magazine, which is why these designs never appear in Coleman or Sanrio shops.
Why is there no InRed some months?
InRed occasionally publishes combined issues covering two months. August and September 2026 were a single release on 7 July.
When does the next issue come out?
Release day is the 7th of most months. The next issue is listed at the bottom of this page.
Can I still get a sold-out issue?
Only if a copy is still listed somewhere in Japan, usually on a marketplace. Once nothing is listed anywhere, no route can produce one.
Next issue
The December 2026 issue is expected on 7 November. Gift details are usually announced about a month ahead of the on-sale date – we’ll update this page as soon as they land.
