CANMAKE eyeliner is best known for one product: Creamy Touch Liner, the slim gel liner that fans love for its smooth glide. But CANMAKE’s current line-up has eight eyeliners, including liquid liners, a sheer gel liner, an angled liner for the lower lids and two “3way” liners for shading. Most reviews cover only Creamy Touch Liner, so it can be hard to know whether another one would suit you better.
This guide compares every CANMAKE eyeliner currently on sale, based on CANMAKE’s official product pages.
What you’ll learn in this article:
- How all eight current CANMAKE eyeliners compare, in one table
- Everything you need to know about Creamy Touch Liner, including why the tip can break

CANMAKE Gel Liners
Creamy Touch Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥715 |
|---|---|
| Type | Gel pencil, twist-up, 1.5 mm tip |
| Finish | Bold, rich colour |
| Shades | 11 |
- Waterproof
Creamy Touch Liner is the eyeliner most people mean when they search for CANMAKE eyeliner. It is a 1.5 mm gel liner with a soft, low-drag tip that glides over the lids, so you can draw ultra-fine lines and fill in the gaps between lashes without tugging. The colour is rich enough in one stroke that you don’t need to go over the line again.
Once it dries, CANMAKE says it clings to the lids and won’t budge: the waterproof formula resists water, sweat, tears and sebum, and stands up to rubbing. It also contains moisturising serum ingredients.
The regular shades are 01 Deep Black, 02 Medium Brown, 03 Dark Brown, 04 Garnet Burgundy, 06 Foggy Plum, 07 Azuki Brown, 09 Darjeeling Pink, 11 Cloudy Gray, 15 Cappuccino Pink, 16 Pretty Milktea and 17 Candy Pink. CANMAKE also releases occasional limited editions.
Why the tip breaks, and how to avoid it. Creamy Touch Liner is a twist-up pencil, and CANMAKE warns that once the lead is twisted out, it can’t be twisted back in. The lead is very soft, so CANMAKE recommends twisting out only about 1 mm at a time. When you first open it, turn the base about 10 times until the lead appears, and close the cap until it clicks after use, since a lead left uncapped can dry out. When the base becomes stiff and hard to turn, the lead has run out.
Creamy Touch Liner Sheer

| Price in Japan | ¥715 |
|---|---|
| Type | Gel pencil, twist-up, 1.5 mm tip |
| Finish | Sheer, natural colour |
| Shades | 1 (01 Charmy Pink) |
- Waterproof
Creamy Touch Liner Sheer has the same smooth 1.5 mm gel tip as the original, but the colour is sheer, as if it has melted into the skin. It creates a natural line that dials down the made-up look, and CANMAKE says it resists water, tears, sweat and rubbing. Like the original, the lead can’t be twisted back in, so twist out only a little at a time.
The regular shade is 01 Charmy Pink, and CANMAKE has also released a limited-edition 40th-anniversary shade.
Airy Extension Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥792 |
|---|---|
| Type | Gel, retractable, 1 × 3 mm angled tip |
| Finish | Soft, powdery colour |
| Shades | 2 (01, 02) |
Airy Extension Liner is CANMAKE’s newest liner, designed for the lower lids. Its ultra-thin angled tip sits flat against the lower lid, so drawing an “eye-widening” line under the eye is as easy as using a small angled brush. It can also be used as a regular eyeliner along the upper lash line and outer corners.
The colour is soft and powdery, more like an eyeshadow line than a sharp liner, which CANMAKE recommends for anyone who finds Creamy Touch Liner too intense. It is formulated to withstand water, sweat, tears, sebum and rubbing and won’t transfer onto the lids. Unlike Creamy Touch Liner, the container is retractable, and it contains five moisturising ingredients: glycerin, squalane, ceramide NP, jojoba seed oil and sodium hyaluronate. The shades are 01 Maple Pancake, a warm milk brown, and 02 Blueberry S’more, a cool purple brown.
CANMAKE Liquid Liners
Slim Liquid Eyeliner

| Price in Japan | ¥990 |
|---|---|
| Type | Liquid, short ultra-slim brush |
| Finish | Crisp line |
| Shades | 2 (01 Black, 02 Brown) |
- Waterproof
Slim Liquid Eyeliner’s key feature is its short, ultra-slim brush. The shorter brush is more stable, so your hand is less likely to shake, and the fine tip makes it easy to draw thin lines along the lash line without making double eyelids look narrower. CANMAKE recommends it for beginners and anyone who finds eyeliner difficult. It also contains serum ingredients.
To keep the brush from clogging with oil or foundation, CANMAKE suggests wiping the tip gently with a tissue after use and storing the pen on its side.
Lasting Liquid Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥990 |
|---|---|
| Type | Liquid, 0.1 mm tip |
| Finish | High-colour, crisp line |
| Shades | 3 (01, 02, 05) |
- Waterproof
Lasting Liquid Liner is CANMAKE’s liner built to last. The quick-drying formula stands up to water, sweat, tears, sebum and rubbing, and CANMAKE says the line won’t come off even if you use an eyelash curler after applying it. The firm yet flexible 0.1 mm tip draws both fine and bold lines, fills in gaps between lashes and flicks out neatly at the outer corners, with full colour in one stroke.
Despite its staying power, it comes off easily with warm water. The shades are 01 Black, 02 Bitter Choco Brown and 05 Greige.
Muted Tulle Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥1,078 |
|---|---|
| Type | Liquid |
| Finish | Sheer colour |
| Shades | 2 (01 Sheer Black, 02 Sheer Brown) |
Muted Tulle Liner is a sheer liquid liner. Instead of adding white to make the colour paler, CANMAKE made the colour itself translucent, so the line defines the eyes while still looking soft. It pairs well with pale eyeshadows for muted or colourless makeup, and you can layer it to adjust the intensity.
Because the colour is sheer, mistakes are less noticeable, which makes it easy for beginners too. The shades are 01 Sheer Black and 02 Sheer Brown.
CANMAKE 3way Liners
3way Slim Shade Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥770 |
|---|---|
| Type | Liquid, ultra-slim brush |
| Finish | Sheer brown shadow |
| Shades | 2 (01 Natural Brown, 02 Ash Brown) |
- Waterproof
3way Slim Shade Liner is a sheer brown liquid liner with three uses: emphasising eyelid folds, contouring the under-eye area and filling in brows. The super-sheer brown creates a realistic shadow rather than a visible line, and the ultra-slim brush keeps lines from getting thick. CANMAKE says it resists sweat, sebum and rubbing and keeps the morning’s line in place for hours.
CANMAKE’s shade advice: for brows, match your hair colour; for folds and under-eye shading, choose 01 Natural Brown if you prefer pale eyeshadows and a natural finish, or 02 Ash Brown for deeper eyeshadows and a bolder look.
3way Slim Eye Rouge Liner

| Price in Japan | ¥770 |
|---|---|
| Type | Liquid, ultra-slim brush |
| Finish | Sheer red |
| Shades | 1 (01 Pure Red) |
- Waterproof
3way Slim Eye Rouge Liner is the red version of the 3way liner. Its sheer red adds a natural, rosy warmth: draw it along the eyelid fold, use it to contour the under-eye area, or apply it over the plump part of the lower lids for a fuller-looking effect. CANMAKE suggests it if brown contouring products make you look pale or tired. Like the Shade Liner, it resists sweat, sebum and rubbing.

Shop on kachicollectHow to Choose: Gel, Liquid or 3way Liner?
If you want one reliable everyday liner, start with Creamy Touch Liner: it glides on easily, gives bold colour and stays put once dry. For a softer look, choose Creamy Touch Liner Sheer or Muted Tulle Liner, and for lines under the eyes, Airy Extension Liner is the one made for the job.
If you prefer the precision of a liquid liner, Slim Liquid Eyeliner is the easiest to control, while Lasting Liquid Liner is the choice for sharp wings that need to survive sweat and oil. The 3way liners aren’t classic eyeliners: use them to add shading to eyelid folds and under the eyes, or, with the Shade Liner, to fill in brows.
How to Apply CANMAKE Eyeliner
- Creamy Touch Liner and Sheer: twist out about 1 mm of lead and draw along the lash line, filling in the gaps between lashes. Close the cap until it clicks after use.
- Airy Extension Liner: place the angled tip under the centre of your eye, then draw the line smoothly out towards the outer corner, keeping it parallel so the triangle at the outer corner stays open.
- Slim Liquid Eyeliner and Lasting Liquid Liner: draw a little at a time along the lash line. With Lasting Liquid Liner, if the colour doesn’t come through at first, hold the pen tip-down for a while or test it on the back of your hand.
- Muted Tulle Liner: draw a line and layer it if you want more intensity.
- 3way liners: draw along the eyelid fold, or draw a single line under the plump under-eye area and blend it immediately. With the Eye Rouge Liner, you can also fill in the plump part of the lower lids.

FAQ
Does CANMAKE eyeliner smudge on oily lids or in humid weather?
Several CANMAKE liners are designed not to. CANMAKE says Creamy Touch Liner, Airy Extension Liner and Lasting Liquid Liner all resist water, sweat, tears and sebum as well as rubbing, and the two 3way liners resist sweat, sebum and rubbing. CANMAKE doesn’t publish wear times, so on very hot days it is still worth checking your line and touching up if needed.
Is CANMAKE eyeliner good for beginners?
Yes. CANMAKE specifically recommends Slim Liquid Eyeliner for beginners and anyone who finds eyeliner difficult, thanks to its short, stable brush. Muted Tulle Liner’s sheer colour makes mistakes less noticeable, and Creamy Touch Liner’s soft gel tip glides on without tugging.
How do you remove CANMAKE eyeliner?
CANMAKE says Lasting Liquid Liner comes off easily with warm water. For the other waterproof liners, CANMAKE doesn’t give specific removal instructions on the product pages, so use an eye makeup remover or cleansing oil and wipe gently rather than rubbing.
Why does Creamy Touch Liner break, and can you twist it back down?
You can’t twist it back down: CANMAKE warns that once the lead is twisted out, it won’t go back in. The lead is very soft, so twisting out too much makes it easy to break. Twist out only about 1 mm at a time. If you want a liner that retracts, Airy Extension Liner has a retractable container.
Which CANMAKE eyeliner is best for the lower lash line?
Airy Extension Liner is designed for it: its angled tip fits against the lower lids, and its soft colour looks natural under the eyes. For shading rather than a line, 3way Slim Shade Liner and 3way Slim Eye Rouge Liner are made for under-eye contouring.
How long does CANMAKE eyeliner last once opened?
CANMAKE doesn’t list a shelf life after opening on its product pages. Under Japanese rules, cosmetics that stay stable for more than three years after manufacture don’t need to show an expiry date, which is why most Japanese eyeliners don’t carry one. Close the cap tightly after each use, keep liquid liner tips clean, and stop using any liner whose smell or texture changes.
Conclusion: The Right CANMAKE Eyeliner for You
For most people, Creamy Touch Liner is the place to start: smooth, bold and long-lasting, as long as you twist out only a little at a time. Choose Lasting Liquid Liner for sharp wings that hold up to sweat and oil, Slim Liquid Eyeliner if you want an easy liquid liner, and Airy Extension Liner for soft lines under the eyes. For softer looks, Creamy Touch Liner Sheer and Muted Tulle Liner keep the colour sheer, and the 3way liners add shading to your folds and under-eye area.
