How to Choose a KATE Mascara
Choose by the lashes you want: Lash Burst for length, volume and curl, Namida no Tate Mascara if your mascara tends to smudge, Frameless Film Mascara for separated lashes, and Lash Clear for a natural look. Add a Lash Maximizer base for extra volume or length, or Lash Glow on top for gloss.
- Length, volume and curl in one: Lash Burst, which KATE says gives clump-free lashes with all three.
- Mascara that won’t smudge: Namida no Tate Mascara, which KATE says resists smudging even when you cry, rub your eyes or produce sebum.
- Separated, natural lashes: Frameless Film Mascara, with a comb whose teeth are 0.3 mm apart, or Lash Clear, a sheer black that blends with your own lashes.
- More volume or length: Lash Maximizer Z or Lash Maximizer Long Up as a base under your mascara.
- Glossy, clumped lashes: Lash Glow, which KATE recommends for people with lash lifts too.
KATE also sells a web-exclusive eyelash curler, the Curvner (¥1,045; spare rubbers sold separately, ¥220 for two), which KATE says grips lashes from the root with a flat design and gives them KATE’s “golden-ratio” curve. KATE has four mascaras in Japan: Lash Burst (¥1,540) for length, volume and curl, Namida no Tate Mascara (¥1,650) for lashes that hold up to tears, Frameless Film Mascara (¥1,540) for separated lashes, and Lash Clear (¥1,078) for a sheer, natural look.
Lash Burst

| Japanese name | ケイト ラッシュバースト |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,540 (7.1 g) |
| Shades | 2: BK-1 Black, BR-1 Brown |
- Waterproof
- Oil-proof
KATE Lash Burst (ケイト ラッシュバースト) suits anyone who wants length, volume and curl from one mascara: KATE says its ultra-soft liquid coats each lash without clumping, two fibres of different lengths add length and volume, and a curl-fixing wax keeps the curl all day. The brush holds plenty of liquid and combs away the excess. It resists sweat, water and humidity, resists sebum, contains a block polymer that KATE says resists smudging, and includes olive oil as a lash-conditioning ingredient.
Namida no Tate Mascara

| Japanese name | ケイト ナミダノタテマスカラ(ロング)/(ボリューム) |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,650 (5 g) |
| Types | Long and Volume |
| Shades | 2 for each type: BK-1 Black, BR-1 Brown |
KATE Namida no Tate Mascara (ケイト ナミダノタテマスカラ), whose name means “shield of tears”, is from KATE’s Goukyu no Ruishin (号泣の涙神) collection and suits anyone whose mascara smudges: KATE says it resists smudging even when you cry hard, rub your eyes, yawn or produce lots of sebum, thanks to a film-forming ingredient that clings to the lashes all day. It also contains a lash-conditioning ingredient.
The Long type has a stretchy liquid that reaches the hard-to-see lash tips and a separating brush, and KATE says it keeps the curl all day. The Volume type adds a volume ingredient for full, clumped-together lashes, with a tapered brush that KATE says is less likely to clump even when layered. Its sister liner, Namida no Tsurugi Liner, is covered in our KATE eyeliner guide.
Frameless Film Mascara

| Japanese name | ケイト フレームレスフィルムマスカラ |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,540 (8 g) |
| Shades | 2: BK-1 Black, BR-1 Brown |
- Removes with warm water
KATE Frameless Film Mascara (ケイト フレームレスフィルムマスカラ) suits anyone who wants separated, natural-looking lashes rather than heavy volume: KATE’s own “W-flex comb” has teeth only 0.3 mm apart, narrower than the gaps between lashes, so it slips between them and separates each one from the root, with parts for upper and lower lashes. Its stretchy liquid lengthens lashes without clumping, and it comes off with warm water.
Lash Clear

| Japanese name | ケイト ラッシュクリア |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,078 (5 g) |
| Shades | 1: BK-1 Sheer Black |
- Waterproof
- Oil-proof
- Fibre-free
KATE Lash Clear (ケイト ラッシュクリア), released in July 2026, suits anyone who wants lashes that look naturally long: its sheer black blends with your own lashes, it keeps the curl, and it has no fibres. KATE says you can also use it as a mascara base or top coat. The long-lash comb has a tip bent at 6° for the inner and outer corners and a coil on the back for curling up. It replaces Lash Former EX (Clear), whose production ended on 30 June 2026.
KATE Mascara Bases (Lash Primers) and Top Coat
KATE has two mascara bases, Lash Maximizer Z (¥1,430) for volume and Lash Maximizer Long Up (¥1,430) for length, and one top coat, Lash Glow (¥1,078) for glossy lashes. All three are new in July 2026.
Lash Maximizer Z

| Japanese name | ケイト ラッシュマキシマイザーZ |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,430 (7.4 g) |
| Shade | EX-1 White semi-transparent |
KATE Lash Maximizer Z (ケイト ラッシュマキシマイザーZ) is a volumising mascara base: KATE says a thicker liquid makes each lash look thicker, short and long fibres reinforce the lashes, and a curl-fixing wax holds the curl all day. It’s waterproof and oil-proof, and its tapered 360° brush picks up fine and lower lashes.
Lash Maximizer Long Up

| Japanese name | ケイト ラッシュマキシマイザー ロングアップ |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,430 (7.4 g) |
| Shade | BK-1 Silent Black |
KATE Lash Maximizer Long Up (ケイト ラッシュマキシマイザー ロングアップ) is a lengthening mascara base that KATE says gives the longest-looking lashes in its range: a soft liquid coats lashes to the tips, 1 mm fibres make them look evenly longer, and its “silent black” colours the hard-to-see tips. A curl-keeping ingredient holds lashes up from the root all day; it’s waterproof and oil-proof, with a slim brush.
Lash Glow

| Japanese name | ケイト ラッシュグロウ |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,078 (5 g) |
| Shade | Watery Glow Black |
KATE Lash Glow (ケイト ラッシュグロウ) is a glossy top coat for clumped-together, glassy lashes that KATE likens to the look just after a lash lift. It keeps the clumped shape, is less likely to turn white over time, contains a lash-conditioning ingredient and comes off easily with warm water. The comb has fine teeth for combing and uneven teeth for making clumps, and KATE recommends it for people with lash lifts too.

Where to Buy KATE Mascara
KATE mascaras are Japanese, and kachicollect is the simplest way to get them from Japan. Our catalog has no proxy fees, and duties are shown in your total before you pay, so nothing extra is charged on delivery. Orders ship worldwide with tracking and usually arrive in about 7 to 14 days.
If the product you want isn’t in our catalog, search Japanese stores or marketplaces for its Japanese name, for example ケイト ラッシュバースト BK-1, ケイト ナミダノタテマスカラ or ケイト ラッシュマキシマイザーZ. Paste the product URL into kachishop to get an instant quote with duties included and no request fee. This works for new and web-exclusive products too, as long as they are listed on a Japanese store or marketplace.
On marketplaces such as eBay, check the product name carefully, as discontinued KATE products such as Lash Former EX (Clear) may still be listed. Proxy services that buy from Japanese stores on your behalf are another option, but the service fee they advertise is only the starting point, and various other charges are added on top by the time you check out. kachicollect’s purchase request does the same job with no proxy or request fees, and duties are shown before checkout.
