Keana Rice Powder Wash (毛穴撫子 お米の洗顔) is a powder face wash in Keana Nadeshiko’s rice series, the same series as Keana Rice Mask. Ishizawa Lab says rice powder (a scrub) and kaolin clay (an adsorbent) wash away old keratin and the build-up that clogs pores, while Rice Serum, its moisturising ingredients derived from 100% Japanese rice, leaves skin plump. It describes the finish as clean yet moist.
| Japanese name | 毛穴撫子 お米の洗顔 |
|---|---|
| Price in Japan | ¥1,650 (50 g) |
| Type | Powder wash |
| Made for | Dry skin with visible pores |
| Key ingredients | Rice powder (scrub), kaolin (adsorbent), Rice Serum |
| Preservatives | Methylparaben, ethylparaben, phenoxyethanol |

Shake the bottle before use so the powder doesn’t clump, take an appropriate amount in your hand, add warm water, work up a lather and wash gently. Rinse carefully without rubbing. Don’t keep it in the bathroom: Ishizawa Lab says heat and humidity can make the powder harden.
Keana Baking Soda Face Washes
Keana’s baking soda face washes use baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), which Ishizawa Lab lists as a cleansing ingredient. There are three regular ones (Baking Soda Foam Wash, Baking Soda Scrub Wash and Baking Soda Soap), and Ishizawa Lab labels all three colourant-free, fragrance-free, mineral-oil-free, paraben-free and alcohol-free.
Keana Baking Soda Foam Wash

Baking Soda Foam Wash (毛穴撫子 重曹泡洗顔, ¥1,100, 100 g) comes in a red tube labelled “Baking Soda Face Foam”. It combines baking soda with hyaluronic acid, collagen, honey and royal jelly, and Ishizawa Lab says it whips into a thick, whipped-cream foam that reaches into pores and leaves skin smooth and plump rather than tight. Ishizawa Lab recommends it for bumpy, rough pores caused by dryness.

Keana Baking Soda Scrub Wash

Baking Soda Scrub Wash (毛穴撫子 重曹スクラブ洗顔, ¥1,320, 100 g) is a powder wash for blackheads and stiff dead skin. Ishizawa Lab says the baking soda turns into a soft, mild scrub when it meets water, and its formula has just four ingredients. It is made to lather only lightly, so it keeps a scrub feel. See our Keana Baking Soda Scrub Wash guide for how to use it, its full ingredients and the men’s version.
Keana Baking Soda Soap

Baking Soda Soap (毛穴撫子 重曹つるつる石鹸, ¥880, standard weight 155 g) is a bar soap for the face and body. Its creamy lather contains baking soda, which Ishizawa Lab says loosens old keratin and lifts dirt from deep in the pores, and its base is 100% plant oils. The ingredient list is just soap base and sodium bicarbonate. Wet your hands and the soap lightly and work up a good lather before washing.

Limited Fruit Foam Washes

Keana Nadeshiko has also released limited-quantity versions of the foam wash with fruit, each ¥1,100 for 100 g: Okinawa Shikuwasa (沖縄シークヮーサーの重曹泡洗顔), with shikuwasa citrus extract and a shikuwasa scent, and Kishu Nanko Ume (紀州南高梅の重曹泡洗顔), with ume plum fruit water and extract and a sweet plum scent. Ishizawa Lab makes them for pores and dullness caused by dirt and old keratin. Unlike the regular foam wash, both contain fragrance and colourants, and they are sold only while stocks last. Limited editions end without notice; Ishizawa Lab’s earlier Ehime Mikan version (愛媛みかんの重曹泡洗顔) has already sold out.
Keana Face Wash for Men
Keana Nadeshiko’s men’s line (男の子用) has its own baking soda cleansers, all labelled fragrance-free, mineral-oil-free, paraben-free and alcohol-free (the foam wash and scrub wash get their eucalyptus scent from eucalyptus leaf oil in the ingredient list). Baking Soda Face Foam for Men (¥1,100, 100 g) adds papain, an enzyme cleanser, and can double as shaving foam. Baking Soda Scrub Wash for Men N (¥1,320, 100 g) combines baking soda, papain and a cellulose scrub, and Baking Soda Soap for Men (¥880, 155 g) is a face and body bar made with body odour in mind. See our Keana for men guide for the whole men’s line, including the toner and sheet mask.
How to Use Keana Face Wash
To use Keana face wash, lather it with water, wash gently, rinse without rubbing, and finish the baking soda washes with a cold-water rinse. Baking Soda Scrub Wash is made to lather only lightly, so it keeps a scrub feel.
- Lather an appropriate amount with water. For Rice Powder Wash, add warm water; Scrub Wash is also a powder, so add water as you lather.
- Wash gently by massaging the lather over your skin, focusing on areas where pores bother you.
- Rinse carefully without rubbing.
- Finish with cold water. For the baking soda foam and scrub washes, Ishizawa Lab suggests a final cold-water rinse to make pores feel tight.
Afterwards, follow with toner and moisturiser as usual; for extra moisture, Keana Nadeshiko’s rice series also includes Keana Rice Mask.
Where to Buy Keana Face Wash
kachicollect is the simplest way to get Keana face wash from Japan. Our catalog has no proxy fees, and duties are shown in your total before you pay, so nothing extra is charged on delivery. Orders ship worldwide with tracking and usually arrive in about 7 to 14 days.
If the one you want isn’t in our catalog, search Japanese stores or marketplaces for its Japanese name, for example 毛穴撫子 お米の洗顔, 毛穴撫子 重曹泡洗顔 or 毛穴撫子 重曹スクラブ洗顔. Paste the product URL into kachishop to get an instant quote with duties included and no request fee. This works for the limited fruit foam washes too, as long as they are listed on a Japanese store or marketplace.
On marketplaces such as eBay, check the Japanese name or the English name on the package (Keana Rice Powder Wash, Baking Soda Face Foam, Baking Soda Scrub Wash), as the women’s and men’s baking soda washes have similar names. Proxy services that buy from Japanese stores on your behalf are another option, but the service fee they advertise is only the starting point, and various other charges are added on top by the time you check out. kachicollect’s purchase request does the same job with no proxy or request fees, and duties are shown before checkout.
Pay Only the Item Price and Shipping

FAQ
Which Keana face wash is best?
It depends on your pores: Rice Powder Wash for dry skin with visible pores, Baking Soda Foam Wash for bumpy, rough pores caused by dryness, and Baking Soda Scrub Wash for blackheads and clogged pores.
What’s the difference between Keana Rice Powder Wash and Baking Soda Foam Wash?
Rice Powder Wash (¥1,650, 50 g) is a powder you lather with water, made with rice powder, kaolin clay and Rice Serum. Baking Soda Foam Wash (¥1,100, 100 g) is a cream in a tube that lathers into a thick foam, made with baking soda, hyaluronic acid, collagen and honey.
Is Keana Baking Soda Scrub Wash a physical exfoliant?
Yes. Ishizawa Lab says its baking soda turns into a soft, mild scrub when it meets water, so it is made to lather only lightly.
Can I use Keana face wash every day?
Yes. Ishizawa Lab’s own FAQ for Baking Soda Foam Wash and Baking Soda Scrub Wash says one 100 g pack lasts about 1 to 1.5 months when used every morning and night. If your skin feels tight or dry afterwards, use it less often.
Do I need a foaming net for Keana face wash?
For Baking Soda Foam Wash, a foaming net is optional and makes the foam creamier; for Baking Soda Scrub Wash, Ishizawa Lab says no net is needed, just lather lightly by hand.
Is Keana face wash alkaline?
Ishizawa Lab doesn’t publish a pH for its face washes, so we don’t give a number. In general, cleansers that lean alkaline clean strongly, and skin returns to its weakly acidic state after washing even if it shifts for a while. If your skin is sensitive, a cleanser labelled weakly acidic is one option to consider.
Is Keana face wash fragrance-free?
The regular Baking Soda Foam Wash, Scrub Wash and Soap are labelled fragrance-free. The limited Shikuwasa and Ume foam washes contain fragrance.
Can men use Keana face wash?
Yes. Keana Nadeshiko also has a men’s line: Baking Soda Face Foam for Men, Baking Soda Scrub Wash for Men N and Baking Soda Soap for Men.
Can I buy Keana face wash outside Japan?
Yes. You can order it from Japan through kachicollect, from our catalog or with a purchase request for any listing on a Japanese store or marketplace, with worldwide shipping.
Conclusion: Which Keana Face Wash Is Right for You?
Choose Keana Rice Powder Wash if your skin is dry and pores look open, Baking Soda Foam Wash for an everyday cream foam that leaves skin smooth, and Baking Soda Scrub Wash for blackheads on the nose. Baking Soda Soap is the lowest-priced option and works on the face and body. To complete your routine, see our Keana Rice Mask guide, and for another Japanese face wash, our Hada Labo cleanser guide.
