Pompompurin turned 30 in 2026, and Japanese brands spent September celebrating. A fashion label, a jewelry maker, two publishers, a chocolate brand and Japan’s convenience store chains all released their own Pompompurin items that month, most of them in limited quantities and almost none of them outside Japan.

This guide lists every Japan-exclusive Pompompurin collaboration announced by Sanrio for September 2026, with the release date, where it’s sold and the prices the brands published. At the end, we explain how to get them if you live outside Japan.

Why These Pompompurin Collabs Never Reach Sanrio Stores Abroad

Nearly everything on this list is a licensed product. Sanrio licenses Pompompurin to a Japanese company, that company manufactures the goods, and it sells them through its own channels. The collection belongs to ANNA SUI’s licensee, to Gakken or to Godiva Japan rather than to Sanrio, so it never enters the catalog that Sanrio’s regional stores draw from.

Sanrio’s own online stores are split by region and each one ships only within its own area. The single store that ships from Japan to other countries carries a far smaller catalog and doesn’t stock retailer collaborations. For the wider picture, see our guide to Japan-exclusive Sanrio merchandise, and our roundup of Hello Kitty collabs from the same month.

Anniversary releases add a second limit. Several of these are one production run tied to the 30th anniversary, sold through bookstores, convenience stores or a single online shop, and the Japanese stores that carry them deliver within Japan only.

The fashion label archives opened the month on 1 September with an anniversary range in which Pompompurin’s Hapidanbui friends wear matching berets. It covers six pouch charms and six silicone charms at ¥3,300 each, each one pairing Pompompurin with a different character, plus an eco bag with a pouch in yellow or pink at ¥4,400. The collection is sold in archives stores, on the brand’s own PMbox online store and on Japanese marketplaces such as ZOZOTOWN and Rakuten.

Bandai Chocobox Figure Collection 2026 (random)

Chocobox is a Japanese candy toy: a box of chocolate-coated biscuits with a mascot inside. The 2026 edition released on 7 September costs ¥385 and includes 16 g of biscuits plus one ball-chain mascot drawn at random from 12 designs, with Pompompurin among them and one secret figure. It’s a blind package, so you can’t pick your character, and it’s sold in snack aisles across Japan.

Suppaiman × Pompompurin

Suppaiman is a dried pickled plum snack from Okinawa, and Montoile wrapped it in a 30th anniversary package showing Team Purin dressed as heroes. The 16 g pack costs ¥214, with a sweeter, milder flavour and a soft texture, and the plum is pitted. It started at selected convenience stores in Japan on 7 September in limited numbers.

Gakken 30th Anniversary Cushion Mook

Japanese publishers sell “mooks” that are really an item with a booklet attached, and Gakken’s version is a soft, squishy Pompompurin seat cushion with a side pocket you can slide your arms into. The book is ¥4,180 in A4 format with 20 pages, and the cushion is the main attraction. It came out on 9 September at bookstores across Japan, on Gakken’s own Shop Gakken+ store and at some Sanrio shops.

ANNA SUI × Pompompurin

ANNA SUI ran the largest collaboration of the month, split across three Japanese licensees. The jewelry line landed on 12 September at department store counters and the ANNA SUI web store, with earrings and a ring at ¥20,900, a necklace at ¥28,600 and an ear cuff at ¥17,600, built around the brand’s butterfly motif and a Pompompurin in black tie.

On 16 September the bags followed at department stores and the Quipo online shop: a mini shoulder bag at ¥17,600, a drawstring tote at ¥25,300, a tuck shoulder bag at ¥20,900, a face-shaped pouch charm at ¥13,200 and an iPhone case at ¥4,950. The same day, Blooming Nakanishi released the handkerchief range, with a printed handkerchief at ¥2,970, towel handkerchiefs at ¥1,430 and ¥1,980, a zip towel at ¥1,650 and a pouch at ¥4,400.

Pompompurin Atarikuji (random)

Atarikuji is Sanrio’s own lottery, and every ticket wins something. This one went on sale on 12 September at 7-Eleven and Ito-Yokado stores at ¥880 per draw, with 13 prize tiers that include three plush designs, a headband, hair ties, a knit bag, pouches, mugs, face towels and a file case. Whoever draws the last ticket in a set also gets a room light. You can’t choose your prize, and lot reservations aren’t accepted.

PIA Pompom Hero Mascot Set

PIA published this anniversary set built around four flocked mascots: Pompompurin himself at about 65 mm tall, plus Scone, Muffin and Bagel dressed as heroes, with three postcards and a sticker sheet. It costs ¥4,400 and reached bookstores nationwide on 15 September, after early sales at two Kinokuniya branches and selected Sanrio shops from 9 September.

Poppin Cider Capitoy (random)

This one is a 500 ml blue lemonade soda with a figure attached, released on 18 September and sold only at Don Quijote group stores. The figures show Sanrio characters relaxing at a public bath, with six designs in the set including Pompompurin, drawn at random. Quantities are limited, and the flavour and figure are the whole point rather than the drink itself.

TEAM JAPAN × Pompompurin

© 2026 SANRIO CO., LTD. / TEAM JAPAN

TEAM JAPAN is the Japanese Olympic team brand, and this officially licensed range puts Pompompurin in sportswear across plush toys, T-shirts and can badges. It went on sale on 19 September at the TBS Store in Tokyo, two Kiddy Land branches in Nagoya and Osaka, some MEGA SPORTS and AEON stores, and the TBS and TEAM JAPAN online shops, with pre-orders opening earlier. Prices weren’t published in the announcement.

Convenience Store Mini Plush (random)

This palm-sized Pompompurin plush has ears you can move freely, and it was made for Japan’s convenience stores rather than Sanrio shops. It costs ¥880 and comes in five expressions, packed so you don’t know which one you’re getting. Rollout started on 19 September at FamilyMart, Lawson, Ministop and Daily Yamazaki across Japan.

Kodansha Pompompurin Sticker Book

Kodansha’s sticker book packs 285 stickers of Pompompurin and the rest of Team Purin into one volume, along with visual cards you can cut out and use. It costs ¥1,650 in B6 format and went on sale on 26 September at bookstores and online bookshops in Japan. It’s the cheapest way on this list to get a lot of anniversary artwork at once.

Godiva × Pompompurin Halloween Set

© 2026 SANRIO CO., LTD. / GODIVA

Godiva Japan dressed Pompompurin as a black cat for Halloween and bundled him with bite-sized chocolates, in two sets sold only on Godiva’s Japanese online shop. The crispy chocolate assortment with a plush charm is ¥4,070 and the chocolate assortment with a pouch is ¥2,750, both on sale from 9 September until 1 November or while stocks last. Note that chocolate is heat-sensitive, so it’s worth checking the weather at both ends before ordering.

How to Buy Japan-Exclusive Pompompurin Collabs From Outside Japan

Order From the kachicollect Catalog

kachicollect is a Japan-based shop that only carries products made for the Japanese market, so the easiest place to start is the catalog itself. It already lists Japan-only Sanrio items, including the Hello Kitty charms and die-cut stickers sold through Yamato Transport’s Japanese shop and the Coleman × HELLO KITTY tote and pouch that come with the October issue of InRed, alongside Japanese beauty, snacks and tea.

You pay the listed price plus shipping, with no proxy fees, and the total including duties is shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is in your local currency by Visa, Mastercard or JCB, so you don’t need a Japanese address or card, and orders ship worldwide with tracking in about 7 to 14 days. Our roundup of the latest character magazine gifts covers the mook format in more detail.

Request Anything That Isn’t in the Catalog

Most of the September collabs above are tied to one Japanese chain or publisher, so they won’t be in the catalog. If you want one of them, send us the product link from a Japanese marketplace and you’ll get an instant quote, then buy it directly on kachicollect with no service fees. The same applies to anything else you find, including listings on Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions.

eBay

Japan-exclusive Pompompurin items appear on eBay soon after release, usually at a reseller markup that grows with how fast the item sold out. Anniversary plush and lottery prizes attract the biggest markups, and counterfeit Sanrio goods are common enough that listing photos alone aren’t proof. Check the seller’s feedback and ask for photos of the actual item, its tags and its packaging.

Amazon

Amazon is the other default, but limited-run collabs like these rarely reach it. What you find is usually listed by third-party sellers rather than the brand, which means a markup and no guarantee the item is genuine. Stock also disappears quickly once the Japanese release sells out.

Tips Before You Buy

Know which items are random. The Atarikuji, the Chocobox mascots and the convenience store mini plush are all blind. If you want a specific design, buying a single listed item second-hand is more reliable than buying a sealed one.

Anniversary runs don’t come back. Most of these were produced once for the 30th anniversary, so they aren’t restocked when they sell out.

Watch the food items. The Suppaiman plum snack and the Godiva sets are fine to ship, but chilled and frozen convenience store sweets can’t be sent overseas at all.

Check where it’s sold before you hunt. Several items here exist in one place only, such as the Godiva sets on Godiva’s Japanese online shop and the Poppin Cider at Don Quijote.

Remember that Japanese online stores stay in Japan. Godiva Japan, Quipo, Shop Gakken+ and the other shops on this list deliver within Japan only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy Pompompurin Atarikuji prizes from outside Japan?

Not by drawing a ticket, since the lottery runs in Japanese stores. Prizes do appear individually on Japanese marketplaces after release, and you can send us the link to buy one through kachicollect.

Why aren’t these collabs on the Sanrio global store?

They’re licensed products made by Japanese companies for their own stores, so they don’t enter the catalog that Sanrio’s regional online stores sell from. Sanrio’s stores outside Japan carry their own separate ranges.

What is Team Purin?

Team Purin is the group of friends who appear with Pompompurin, including Scone, Muffin and Bagel. They show up across the anniversary goods, notably in the PIA hero mascot set and the Kodansha sticker book.

How long do these anniversary items stay in stock?

It varies, but most are a single limited production. Bookstore items tend to last a little longer than convenience store releases, which can clear out in the first week.

Conclusion

September 2026 was a heavy month for Pompompurin’s 30th anniversary, and the pattern is the same across all of it: a Japanese company makes the goods, sells them through Japanese stores, and stops when the run ends. Bookstores, convenience stores, department stores and one online chocolate shop each had something different.

The simplest way in is the kachicollect catalog. It already carries a wide range of Japan-only products, so you can browse and pick rather than hunt, and anything that isn’t listed can be requested with a link. You pay the item price plus shipping with no proxy fees, see the total including duties before checkout, and first-time customers can use the code WELCOME20 for 20% off.
