- Indomethacin 3.5 g per 100 g of plaster (3.5%) — Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that provides the patch's pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory action.
- l-Menthol 3.5 g per 100 g of plaster — Gives a cooling sensation on the skin.
Texture & scent

Suited for
Approved indications in Japan: shoulder pain from stiff shoulders, lower back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, tenosynovitis (pain in the hand or wrist), elbow pain such as tennis elbow, bruises and sprains. The compact size is made to fit the shoulders, base of the neck and around the shoulder blades.

Salonpas is Hisamitsu's signature pain-patch brand, and Salonpas EX launched in October 2008 as the indomethacin-strength version for daily shoulder pain. It is eligible for Japan's self-medication tax deduction.
How to use
Peel off the plastic film and apply the patch to the painful area. Use at most twice a day.
Cautions
Not for children under 11. Pregnant women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Do not use continuously for more than two weeks. Do not apply around the eyes, on mucous membranes, wounds or eczema. Stop and seek advice if a rash or irritation develops.
